Why us

Picture and sound from one team.

Most video companies are strong on picture and bring in sound from somewhere else. We come at it from both sides: next to the cameras sits our own recording studio, where we’ve been mixing live recordings and albums since 2015. With concert films and live sessions, that’s a difference you can hear. And even on a music video, you can tell the edit comes from people who work with music every day – in the timing, the rhythm, the feel for the song.

Maik Styrnol directs the music projects, Pirmin Styrnol the documentaries – including all eight episodes of the SWR series The Kelt. We plan and budget together, and we shoot wherever the project is.

Since 2020 we’ve also run our own concert film label, WeLive: 16 episodes, more than a million viewers and two national awards.

Video production FAQ.

Do you have your own film studio?

Our film studio is mobile. We shoot where the music or the story actually happens – a club, a festival stage, a theatre, a rehearsal room. Editing, grading and sound then happen back in Lahr, in the same building as our recording studio.

Where do you shoot?

From our base in south-west Germany we cover the whole of Germany, Austria and Switzerland, and we travel further whenever a project calls for it. International bands touring through Europe are welcome to get in touch.

What does it cost?

Concert films start at €5,800 (example: 10 songs, two camera operators, four locked-off cameras, edit and grade), live trailers at €2,350. Music videos and documentaries are budgeted around the idea – after a first call we’ll give you an honest range. All prices include German VAT.

Why picture and sound from one team?

Because with music, the sound decides whether a video works. Our live recording, mixing and mastering come from the same house as the cameras and the edit – no juggling three suppliers, and nothing lost in the hand-offs.

Do you make corporate or promotional films?

No, deliberately not. We work documentary-style: portraits, reportage and interviews built on real moments rather than polished self-promotion. If a pure advertising film is what you need, we’ll say so and point you elsewhere. More on Documentary & Reportage.
